Despite embarking on their first-ever European campaign, Crystal Palace are adapting at a rapid pace. Missing key players like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and wing-back Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles departed Dublin with a commanding win that virtually guarantees them a spot in the Europa Conference League playoffs.
Another victory in their upcoming fixture against Finland's KuPS should be sufficient to seal direct entry to the knockout stages, especially after a previous stumble against Strasbourg.

This occasion offered a chance for several Palace's fringe players to shine. Christantus Uche, making only his second beginning after arriving on loan from Getafe, notched the scoring with a well-taken finish. Forward Eddie Nketiah added a another, finding the net for the second game in match.

After the break, manager Oliver Glasner took the chance to withdraw key players like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse almost scoring his very first touch, but saw his shot blocked.
Esse was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one shot strike off both posts before being gathered on the line. Uche then missed a glaring chance, indicating there is still room for improvement in his game.
A solitary worry for Palace was a second-half knock to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This allowed 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to make his senior debut, capping an otherwise positive night for the traveling side.
